MUSLIM GIRLS OK2QUESTION
What is OK2Question?
My sister, while she was growing up, would always ask my mother WHY. And when given an answer, she would proceed to say then “Why not THIS?” or “Why not THAT?”
For example, if an answer was given, she would wonder why it couldn’t apply to something else. And we believe that that is the nature of human beings, especially children-- to question, and to look for more solutions.
Sometimes people would say that my sister was asking too much and she was being annoying, but my mom would simply answer that it is OK2QUESTION She would say that science is an incredible thing, and no question is bad. She said that the more you question, the better answers you could find-- you might even find something completely new! But all of this can only happen if you ask the question.
The most incredible thing about science is that it opens up the possibility for questioning and theory. Anyone can be wrong and anyone can be right. Even being wrong can lead to new discoveries and innovations.
There have been many instances where someone has questioned what theory is already established and found a new answer. Einstein believed the universe was not expanding, but someone questioned him. Edwin Hubble questioned him. He did not say, “Hey, if the great Einstein is saying it, then it has to be something that is true forever!” He found a new way of looking at the world by questioning what was in front of him, and by doing so he found a different answer. That is the great thing about science-- it gives us the freedom to question.
That is what OK2QUESTION is all about. We want to develop in kids the power to question and challenge. To teach them that it is always OK2QUESTION To teach them that no question is ever stupid, silly, or annoying.
We are Canadian Muslims with Pakistani heritage, and we believe we Muslim kids need to be included in discussions of science and theory. We often are excluded from conversations and our ideas are judged and not brought to light, which is something we need to change.
We ourselves have thought and made videos on things like: “Are we wrong about Gravity?” or “Did the dinosaurs make the same mistake that we humans are making?”
If someone says that “Hey, it's not rocket science!” Tell them it is rocket science to us-- it is our curiosity, it is our right, and it is OK2QUESTION
We are focusing our questions on Science, as we have seen that it is a natural thing with children that they are focused on science. They want answers to their questions and the beauty is that kids from a very young age want more information-- and, more interestingly, they like to challenge that information.
There are many platforms where they ask kids and teenagers to ask questions like “Why is Sky Blue?'' or videos where they explain things, such as explaining the Theory of Relativity in their own words.
Our platform is different. Our platform is about what we kids really are. We are not asking you just WHY, we are asking you “WHY NOT THIS?” or “WHY NOT THAT?” and we believe this is how real progress and real science discoveries are made. This is how we kids can take our creativity and exploration to the next level.
We want you, the kids, to post your questions on YouTube on our Channel OK2QUESTION

We made OK2QUESTION YouTube channel because when my Mother has no answer, she will say Google it, and we will never find the answer quite as easily. So we really want when a kid asks a creative question, your mother should say OK2QUESTION it!
